SUNDAY AT GRACE
Come worship with us at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday! Pastor Steve’s message will be “The Uprising of Stewardship”, based on Deuteronomy 15:1-11 and 2 Corinthians 8:1-15. You are also welcome to come before worship for the book study at 9:15 a.m. in the Ladies’ Parlor. The book under discussion is The Color of Compromise, by Dr. Jemar Tisby. After that, you can enjoy coffee and pastries in the Blue Room.
UPDATES FROM THE WEEK
On the national front, the General Conference of the United Methodist Church has been meeting in Charlotte, NC. Momentous actions have been taken. The anti-LGBTQ+ language has been removed from the Book of Discipline, and gay people can be ordained. Deacons have been given the right to administer sacraments. On Tuesday, April 30, Grace hosted a viewing and discussion of the movie “God and Country”. It was very well attended, with many people from other churches and around the community present. Pastor Steve led the discussion, and it is hoped that this will provide a starting point for cooperative efforts in our community.
