God of surprises, break through the life of Grace Church and its people. Reveal to us new ways we can be faithful and fruitful, moving into the future you have in store.

The First Flame of Advent

SUNDAY AT GRACE

Sunday, December 1, is the first Sunday of Advent! Pastor Steve will begin a new sermon series using Christmas movies to illustrate the message of this season of preparation. This Sunday, the movie is “Elf”, starring Will Ferrell. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can catch it on cable channel TBS, which is showing a marathon of the film starting at 8:00 p.m. Friday. The movie is also available on various streaming services. If you are unable to attend the service in person, you can watch it HERE on the Grace Church Dayton channel of YouTube.

CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS

You may purchase a poinsettia to donate to a mission or in memory or honor of someone special. The order forms should be returned to the church office by Thursday, December 5. On Sunday, December 15, the names of all donors will be printed in the bulletin, along with the people being honored or remembered. Your contribution may be mailed to the church (1001 Harvard Blvd., Dayton, 45406, c/o Lisa Pelphrey) or dropped off in the church office. Please make checks payable to Grace United Methodist Church. You can print out the order form HERE.

LOVE GIFT FOR GRACE STAFF

The Grace UMC Leadership Team invites everyone in the Grace community to contribute toward a Love Gift for Grace staff members. Checks should be written to Grace UMC and have the notation “love gift for Grace staff”; donations made by other means should include the same information. Donations will be received through Sunday, December 29. Thank you for your help in making this tangible gesture of love to the folks who support us and the Kingdom

The church office will be closed Thursday and Friday to observe Thanksgiving. Your editors, too, will celebrate the holiday, so the next edition will be Monday, December 2. May your Thanksgiving be abundant with love and gratitude!
