SUNDAY AT GRACE
Join us on Sunday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. to worship the Lord! It’s Father’s Day! We will have a guest pianist, Jenny Weber. Pastor Steve’s message will be “On Looking at the Heart” and is part of the sermon series God Is at Work. The service can be streamed here on the Grace Church Dayton channel of YouTube.
As always, you are invited to join the discussion of The Color of Compromise by Jemar Tisby at 9:15 a.m. in the Blue Room and to share coffee and fellowship at 10:00 a.m. in the Ladies’ Parlor. In addition, there will be a table in the hallway where you can get help with your voter registration from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.
SINCLAIR COLLEGE EXHIBIT
In honor of Juneteenth, there will be a private one-hour tour of a special exhibit at Sinclair College entitled “Our American Journey”. The tour will be on Sunday, June 23, at 1:00 p.m. This exhibit examines the African American journey using various artifacts to capture the determination, courage, and resilience of Black people in America. Michael Carter, Sinclair’s Chief Diversity Officer, will host our tour. There is no cost for the tour; however, there is a donation box if you are so inclined. Parking will be free.
Dayton Cooks! has agreed to provide box lunches in the Blue Room following the worship service. Each lunch will be $10.
If you plan to attend, please contact Cindy Cary at cindycary4@gmail.com so we know how many people to plan for. More information will be coming soon.
TRAINING IN DIALOGUE SKILLS
Many of us face frustration and division in our communities. Women’s Interfaith Discussions is partnering with the PREVENTS-OH project to invite you to an intensive training session in dialogue skills, led by experts affiliated with UD’s Human Rights Center.
On Tuesday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a workshop at the Fazl-i-Umar Mosque, 637 Randolph Street, to practice communicating better across the differences that can divide us. Join us to develop leadership skills to heal our communities.
The registration deadline is TODAY; register here to attend. You are asked to bring a vegetarian dish to share.
