God of surprises, break through the life of Grace Church and its people. Reveal to us new ways we can be faithful and fruitful, moving into the future you have in store.

SUNDAY AT GRACE

What a great way to prepare for 2025! On Sunday, we participated in a Wesley Covenant Service, in which we turned in pledge cards stating how many Sundays in 2025 we plan to attend worship—at Grace, online, at another church in or out of town, or in a personal meditation time. We were blessed by guest soloist, Maggie Weckesser (pictured above). The service closed with these words from John Wesley: “I am no longer my own, but yours. Put me to what you will, place me with whom you will…And now, O wonderful and holy God, Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, you are mine and I am yours. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it also be made in heaven. Amen.” If you would like to watch the service, click HERE for the Grace Church Dayton channel of YouTube.

SABBATH STUDY

“Courage to Learn: Gripping Stories from the Bible and History” is a new Sabbath Study starting this Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9:15 in the Blue Room. Led by Rev. Dr. Amelia Boomershine, we will explore foundational stories of the Judeo-Christian tradition as a context for studying stories of the African diaspora. You may be challenged, inspired, and enlightened, and perhaps also perplexed and troubled. Take courage! God calls us to learn for the sake of beloved community.

OFFICE CLOSED

In observance of New Year’s Day, the church office will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular office hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.
