COME AND HEAR
Toward ‘Beloved Community,’ Away from White Christian Nationalism
We hope you’ll plan to come and hear best-selling author Dr. Jemar Tisby, one of the nation’s strongest voices on matters of race, religion, and white Christian nationalism, on Sept. 8 at Grace Church. Invite friends and neighbors to this event for our larger Dayton community! Please go to the Grace Facebook page (Grace: A United Methodist Community) and share the event on your own Facebook page! Invite your Facebook friends, too!
“Grace Church seeks to provide the tools to build a more Christlike way to live in community,” says Grace’s Pastor Rev. Steve Putka.
Here are the plans for the day:
- Worship: 10:30 a.m., Dr. Tisby preaching
- Luncheon and information fair: 12:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
$20 per individual, by RSVP to lisa@graceumc.com by Friday, August 30 - Lecture and Q & A: 2:00 p.m.
Let Larry Ramey (larry.d.ramey@gmail.com) know ASAP if you’d be willing to help with:
- Planning
- Neighborhood Canvas on the next three Saturdays.

Will you join in a neighborhood canvas on any of the next three Saturdays, August 24 and 31 and September 7?
Let’s see how we can work toward growing a beloved community. Grace is for everyone!
DON’T FORGET CHOIR REHEARSAL!
The Grace Choir will be singing for Dr. Tisby’s worship service! The first rehearsal is tonight, August 21, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Blue Room. Everyone is welcome—the more the merrier! Please come!
